We provide written warranties on all of our products. We have been a member of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce since 1930 (we’re the oldest member!). We’re also a member of the Staten Island Home Improvement Contractors Association, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

Customer Service

Since 1925, Statwood has provided services for every product we ever installed. This has resulted in an enviable reputation and today, over 50% of our business is with prior customers and people recommended by them. Interestingly, Statwood is the only Staten Island window/door contractor listed by both Con Edison and National Grid as “Qualified Contractor” in their Residential Fuel Saving Programs. Organizations like the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce and Dun & Bradstreet may be contacted for more information.

The Contractor

Statwood’s history of having been in business on Staten Island since 1925 is unique. The third generation of the founding family is now involved in everyday operations. The Small Business Administration indicates contractor failure may leave homeowners with unfulfilled promises and worthless warranties. Here at Statwood we guarantee every project from consultation to completion.

Insurance

Statwood Home Improvements provides written proof of extensive insurance coverage for your protection and peace of mind. You, the homeowner should demand to be given valid, current, General Liability and Workers Compensation insurance certificates. An accident involving a worker, a passerby, etc. or damage or loss to your property may result in a devastating financial loss. The home improvement industry is rated as high risk due to the use of power equipment, ladders, job conditions, etc. Let us complete your home improvements with no unnecessary stress.

Materials

There are several different grades of materials available from manufacturers. The minimum grade, or “builder quality” is made for the new home builder and home center where low price has a higher priority than long term performance. The Better Business Bureau and other Consumer Protection Agencies recommend that better quality products are usually the best investment for the homeowner. Since labor costs are about the same for installing any grade of material, using a low quality is never justified. Statwood’s policy has been to provide products resulting in maximum return on investment for the homeowner.

Craftsmen

Statwood maintains a year-round flow of work which attracts high caliber, quality-minded workers and allows us to maintain a steady, experienced work force.

Business Ethics & Policy

For 3 generations, Statwood has been dedicated to selling, installing, and servicing home improvement products without “bait” advertising, “low ball” pricing, so called “free gifts”, or other “gimmicks.” Free estimates on realistically priced products, financing arrangements, in-home demonstrations, and consultations are always available without any obligation.
